Kings Church Cockermouth is a Christian Church and we are committed to helping people in poverty in our town and surrounding areas. We do this in a number of ways: Youth drop in evenings; Friday night is drop in night, and young people (11-16) from around the area area welcome to come and play games (electronic and otherwise) with a snack type meal, held at the Hub, 4 Market Street, Cockermouth, CA13 9NJ Cafes for those that were flood affected; Tuesday and Friday mornings at the Cricket Club, as well as our regular Wednesday morning coffee mornings. Mealshare: offering fresh and frozen food to those that can't afford it, and/or offering prepared meals for those that can't prepare it. Its really helpful for those in emergency situations

We are a community group who help others by passing on items and food to those in need, food and items of clothing and household goods are usually donated by other members of the community. We also have foodbank voucher holders within our group but do not have a foodbank within the town we live in and many in our small town do not drive or have the finances in place to travel to the foodbank. We are an emergency stop gap for food until we can get the community member some further help from outside agencies. We have also begun working in partnership with other groups concerned with food poverty Works 4 You Cleator Moor, Moorclose Community Centre and Priory Drive Swap Shop. Food is now distributed within a 15 mile radius.

Dreamscheme delivers youth work in aspatria. we currently have over 150 members aged 11yrs - 19yrs, one full time worker, 6 sessional workers and eight volunteers. we are open 5 days a week & occassional weekends. We provide access to activities and training which develop a variety of skills, empowering young people to realize their potential as individuals. Rainbow Room by aspatria dreamscheme - we are a community Food pantry who have been providing food for our town for donations since the pandemic and are still continuing to grow.
