We are a local Christian Fellowship focused on charitable acts to our local community, providing surplus food, faith and support as appropriate. We work closely with three food banks in both Medway and Maidstone who deal directly with the general public. This service is completely free.

One Big Family - Helping the Homeless

For the public benefit, to prevent or relieve the poverty of people who are homeless or in financial hardship by providing accommodation, essential items, information and advice to individuals in need and or other charities and organisations who are also working to prevent or relieve poverty. We run a 17 bedroom supported accommodation project in Medway, facilitate a Homeless Winter Night Shelter annually from December to April, hold a weekly soup kitchen which sees over 100 people attend, deliver food parcels and homestarter packs to people who have been referred to us by external agencies (eg social services. domestic abuse organisations, housing etc) We have a passionate team of more than 50 volunteers, and a dedicated staff team who work to support the residents in our accommodation.

Kent community helpers

The charity have a number of volunteers who either do food drops within the community in various areas {i.e. Cuxton, Snodland, and Rochester}, distribute vulnerable families who they know that are struggling. The food is also distributed to Twydall Evangelical Church, community centre, charities like Our Community Spirit. The food is also used to cook for the homeless, One Big Family, Helping the Homeless. We collect from Co Op, M&S, Lidl, Aldi, KFC and Tescos There is no charge as our volunteers. They do this to help the community or people in need. They are selfless volunteers who want to give back to the community knowing they are not getting any expenses paid for.
