- The prevention or relief of poverty, homelessness & lonliness - The general public/mankind - Provides meals/facilities/open space - Provides services - Provides advocacy/advice/information We aim to meet many of the needs of the most vulnerable, disadvantaged and marginalised people in the local community, we care for and support everyone who comes through our doors, greeting them with a warm, caring welcome, no matter their background. The work of the charity is based on Christian principles, everything we do is inspired from Matthew 25:36, but we place no religious obligations on our guests, volunteers, staff or trustees. Meeting the needs of our guests requires the flexible provision of a range of support & services to enable them to not only survive but thrive. The charity’s objectives are to relieve sickness & financial hardship, to promote & preserve good health and education in accordance with Christian principles by the provision of funds, goods & services. Almost without exception, the Mission’s guests experience and present with multiple complex social issues, in response we adopt a holistic approach in which the predominant issue is seen as a starting point to meeting needs rather than the sole focus of support. This approach generates bespoke packages of support for individuals and families. Our core services span the four layers of the hierarchy of needs including: food aid (a meals service and food parcels); the provision of material support (clothing, household goods and help with utility bills); assistance with housing issues; healthcare; social opportunities; psychological support; skills development and ultimately, opportunities to realise potential & reintegrate into society.

Our mission is the relief of poverty among the street homeless/rough sleepers and homeless through the provision of items to support basic needs such as sleeping bags, ground sheets, survival sheets, blankets, clothing, food and toiletries. We also aim to improve the individual’s welfare through our welfare and advocacy team.We endeavour to prevent harm to health by referring to emergency and similar services as and when necessary throughout Hastings, Bexhill, St. Leonards, Eastbourne and Lewes. We provide a satellite food bank delivering in excess of 200 food bags a week to rough sleepers and the vulnerably housed homeless. We also have a baby bank and a Vegan bank plus our Homestart scheme, set up to provide those in emergency and temporary accommodation who often have nothing, not even a kettle. We provide these items. We work closely with our local Women's refuges and emergency accommodation hostels and provide books and toys to the children.

We run a small community fridge in Hailsham 3 evenings a week. We collect waste food from local supermarkets over the weekends and holidays when other organisations are closed. We share with other organisations so nothing is wasted. Now smaller than before but with the same beliefs. Helping around 30 people a week. Free of charge, we are self sufficient.
