We regularly keep our village tidy by doing litter picks, we are youth led and the young people, seeing the plastic waste in the news have requested to do a beach clean. We would like to hire a coach to take them to the coast to do a beach clean, we would like to purchase litter pickers, bin bags and reusable work gloves in children and adult sizes in order to not add to plastic waste with disposable gloves so that we can complete this beach clean. We also use a local wood where we have planted trees in the past and would like to purchase some saplings to plant in the woodland which is also run by a local not for profit charity. We feel it is vital to instil in the younger generation the importance of environmental issues and how they can make a difference for their future and to encourage them to get their friends thinking about the environment so that the next generation is well equipped to tackle issues that arise and as Scout Leaders we are in a great position to do this.
