Leeds Mind

Leeds, UK

Leeds Mind was founded in 1972 and had strong links to High Royds Hospital in Menston. We are an independent charity with a very proud affiliation with the national Mind group, which includes around 140 local Mind associations, and Mind shops across England and Wales. Leeds Mind supports the people of Leeds to discover their own resources to ‘recover’ from periods of poor mental health, and to live life independently with their mental health condition. The aim of our work is to help people build on their strengths, overcome obstacles, and become more in control of their lives. We deliver a wide range of services right across the Leeds area, working closely with other local Mind associations throughout Yorkshire and the Humber to ensure we are delivering the best service possible to local communities.

The Lullaby Trust

London, UK

The Lullaby Trust is a charity that saves babies’ lives and supports bereaved families. Around 3 babies a week still die from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and we are committed to bringing that number down to zero. Through educating parents on how they can reduce the risk of SIDS and investing over £12 million in research, we have played a key role in reducing the number of babies who die from SIDS by 82%, saving the lives of more than 29,000 babies. Each year we train thousands of health professionals to support parents in sleeping their baby safely. We campaign tirelessly to raise awareness of SIDS and ensure our life saving advice reaches all parents. The Lullaby Trust supports bereaved families, through our helpline and befriending scheme. Our work with the NHS to provide a Care of Next Infant Programme (CONI) offers a lifeline to bereaved families expecting a new baby.

St Gemma's Hospice

Leeds, UK

The St Gemma's Hospice team cares for people in Leeds who are living with cancer and other terminal illnesses. We give expert medical and emotional support to patients on our wards, our Day Hospice and in people‘s own homes, 365 days of the year. Our Young Peoples’ Service and Bereavement Support Team supports patients’ families and carers, whenever they need it. We help over 3,000 local people each year. We are extremely proud to say that our support is free for patients and families. But they are not free for us to provide! It costs £25,000 each and every day to run all of the Hospice’s services. We couldn’t do this without the local community's amazing help. Your support means we can carry on being a friendly, warm and safe place of expert care at the heart of the local community.
