Our Inpatient & Community Specialist Nurse teams are at the forefront of our services. Their training provides them with the skills needed to care for people with advanced illness or who are dying. They are trained in pain management and distressing symptom control, and also in providing emotional support to patients, their carers and their families at very difficult times. They integrate the psychological and spiritual aspects of patient care, helping patients live as actively as possible until they die. It is the total commitment and care that our Nurses provide that makes our service so invaluable allowing patients and their families to work towards finding acceptance, understanding, and peace in very difficult circumstances. The cost of our nurses, constitutes one of our most substantial fundraising challenges : £5,000 would fund 10 morning nursing-shifts.
