Countess of Chester Hospital
Chester, UK
The Countess of Chester Hospital is a very busy place. A general week here at The Countess can see over 1400 people being seen in A & E, over 1700 people being discharged and sent home, over 6000 people attended outpatients, over 500 people having operations, 700 people having x rays and 60 babies being born! Space at the Countess is at a premium. Space for patients to sit and relax. Space away from the wards for relatives to take a few moments, to take in bad news or prepare for visiting loved ones. Space for staff to relax and eat lunch. See the blue sky and enjoy the environment. We are very fortunate to have over five garden spaces at the Countess some accessible by wheelchairs, that patients and their families can use. They are well used and enjoyed in the summer and we would be delighted to have them prepared for summer in June. Tasks include weeding, planting of pots and borders and bench painting. These tasks all need doing and will make a difference to the environment we are able to offer patients family and friends of patients as well as staff at the Countess of Chester Hospital.
