Critical Journeys Appeal

Birmingham, UK

Support Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity Critical Journey's Appeal and make a real difference to the lives of the children and their families that we treat. Every year, more than 2,000 critically ill babies and children in the West Midlands require transferring between hospitals for life-saving care and treatment in our critical care ambulances. Your support will fund lifesaving equipment for these babies, children and expectant mothers who need our KIDs Intensive Care Decision Support & Neonatal Transfer Service. Thanks to your support we can help poorly children such as Arlo; Arlo from Telford was born at just 25 weeks, weighing only 1.6 lb and his recovery was dependant on our Kids / NTS team who transferred him 8 times. By supporting our Critical Journey’s Appeal you will help us ensure that every child we try and help have the best possible outcome at the most critical times.

Acorns Children's Hospice - Drakes Court

Birmingham, UK

At Acorns we provide a network of specialist palliative nursing care and support for babies, children and young people aged 0-18 who have life limiting or life threatening conditions and associated complex needs. Acorns relies on the community to fund the majority of its activities. A holistic service meets the needs of both the children and young people and their families, including the bereaved (subject to meeting the Acorns eligibility criteria). This includes short break provision; emergency and end of life care; therapeutic and psychosocial support; sibling services; and family support. Support is provided in each of our three hospices and the wider community, including in the family’s home.
