How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, B&Q has donated products and volunteer time, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Galway Hospice

Galway, Ireland

The Galway Hospice provides a wide range of specialist Palliative Care services to adults and children with cancer and other life limiting illnesses. These services, which include Inpatient Care, Home Care, as well as, Day Care and Bereavement Support, are delivered across County Galway and the adjoining islands. Funding towards the specialist Inpatient services is provided by the HSE, while all of our other services depend entirely on the generous support of friends like you. Each year, Galway Hospice must raise in excess of €1.6 million to support the delivery of these essential services, which are provided free-of-charge, for as long as they are needed. Your support will assist the Hospice in providing the highest possible level of care to patients and families at what for them, is a very difficult time. We have become ever more reliant on voluntary donations in the current economic environment. Our HSE funding continues to be reduced while at the same time, the demand for our services continues to increase. Due to this increased demand, we are actively planning on expanding our existing premises in Renmore to accommodate an additional 6 Inpatient beds over the next 12 months. The cost of this expansion will be funded entirely from voluntary contributions. You may be aware that Galway Hospice has achieved the highest levels of international accreditation for the quality of the services we provide. Our commitment to good governance is equally strong. We assure you that we make every Euro we receive count. All funds raised are used solely for the purposes of supporting the provision of high quality patient-centered care to the patients and, support to their families who turn to Galway Hospice in their time of need. Thank you for taking the time to read about the Galway Hospice. Your support is greatly appreciated.
