To empower people in community who struggle with various issues including: depression, addiction, poverty, isolation and social interaction. We help them with life skills and work through issues they may face through lack of self esteem. Through the food project we aim to make the weekly budget go a little further by providing food parcels and goods to help with the day to day running of a household. Where necessary we will undertake the refurbishment of rooms within the house to create moe of a home.

Hi we our a mental heath charity in newry , at the minate we do not receive funding we are self funded which is now nearly all we can give , The sanctuary we aim to create a safe , secure , happy and peaceful relaxing environment and atmosphere but we need help to keep our dream alive as the people we have coming are now dependent on it , we do a range of activities arts & crafts , bingo , music, quizs , board games , knitting, painting so we need funds and maybe surplus items to continue we also try to help the less fortunate with food we receive by sell by date on the day so we could maybe help the community out aswell The Sanctuary is like a safe guard to all who visit and with the help we can progress and grow bigger , we also have a pit of land that we are working on all recycled materials as we never received funding for it its all to keep the people that come to us outdoors for a while if weather is ok so we would appreciate any help whatsoever

Southern Age Well Network provide support to older people’s groups across Newry and Mourne. Our organisation is run and led by a voluntary committee of older people and representatives of groups in the area. Southern Age Well Network provides support with group start-up, governance, volunteer management and recruitment, funding, financial reporting, and training. We provide operational planning and funding strategy development to over 60 groups in Newry and Mourne helping older volunteers to implement health and wellbeing initiatives to promote active, healthy, positive ageing in local communities. Our work ensures that the older people’s movement in our area is vibrant and engages those most in need, those at risk of suffering isolation and feelings of loneliness while helping each member retain independence at home and away from care settings for as long as possible. Southern Age Well Network support older volunteers with governance, funding and recruitment, to plan, resource, run and enjoy tailored activities in over 60 older people’s groups across Newry and Mourne regularly engaging over 2000 older people. In recent months our organisation have been supporting a number of men's sheds across the area to start up, helping with developing constitutions, sourcing premises, planning projects and engaging men that have suffered deteriorating mental and physical health during the pandemic. Men's groups are the focus of this funding.
