The Hale Community Centre is a community resource that provides a range of services, Including a Community Fridge & Cupboard. We aim to re-distribute unwanted edible food from local businesses and individual households, which can then be taken by anyone who wants to get involved with the project. This prevents the food going to waste and into landfill. We would like to become a part of the community and bring people together, whilst looking after our environment.

We offer free hot meals and a safe place for people who are homeless, lonely or in need. Open seven nights a week from 10pm to 8am during November to May Dinner served at 10.30pm, breakfast served at 7.am Summer opening 7pm to 10pm most nights (no overnights) An opportunity to respond to the increasing homeless issue and our response to support folk of all ages locally. We set up originally in 2015 as a winter project, since then the demand has been incredible and we daily feed around 25 customers and provide a warm, safe place to be. The cafe' is run totally through the generosity and investment in time of local supporters and a team of around 40 volunteers.

Our Community Cupboard aims to helping to reduce food poverty and food waste. Accessible to anyone in need of support and offering access to the full range of support services at The Vine Centre. The Vine Centre exists to serve the community. We aim to support the most vulnerable and disadvantaged members of our community; adults and families that are socially isolated, long term unemployed, homeless or poorly housed, suffering with mental health, addiction or learning difficulties. Often individuals will approach us for one service, then when a good level of trust has been built they will engage with other services and activities that we offer. With our wrap-around services we are able to support a client on their whole journey, reducing any barriers to progression or engagement that they may face. We take pride in being a safe and welcoming centre, where adults of all ages and nationalities feel comfortable to access. We provide training and development opportunities, addiction support, mental health and anger management, budgeting and benefit support, counselling, support with homelessness and housing sustainment. We run social groups to help combat social isolation and provide opportunities for our beneficiaries to learn, grow and feel empowered to make positive changes and sustainable independence.
