KINGS BOXING ACADEMY BULLY -BUSTER GROUP
Newton Abbot, UK
We run and support boxing training, open community gym for adults 16-60, kids box-fun and development skills, Bully-Buster Programme in conjunction with local secondary schools supporting physically bullied children, School inclusion education sessions SEN and behaviour group. Unfortunately, we have had to stop our MATES open friends sessions for supporting mental health, depression and life difficulties due to no funds to support this. Specifically targeted alpha males and men who would not admit to issues or fear of failing etc. Our Bully-Buster programme has also dropped to a minimum due to the non-return of our loaned boxing items for those who found it difficult to come into the gym. We also run our first-aid and defibrillator sessions to ensure all boxers have first-aid and life-saving skills. We also run and promote our Bronze, Silver and Gold skills development awards (similar to karate grading) this supports new boxers into competing in the ring. We have worked with social services, the police, YOT (anti-social team), schools and special behaviour units via referrals etc. The gym is a safe haven for many young people and older adults from all backgrounds, cultures and diversities. Our roof has a major leak which has caused us to drop some of our services and we are struggling to keep the doors open. We desperately need roof repair items and sealants and screw gun packs to secure to artex ceilings. We need funding to keep our essential Bull-Buster Programme open for victims.
