Remake: Cornwall is a repurpose and reuse organisation which is passionate about keeping food, textiles and furniture from landfill. For the past six months we have provided a daily community fridge facility supported by 13 volunteer drivers and fridge hosts to support over 150 families each week from across cornwall. Yesterday we distributed 21 meat hampers to families by collaborating with Isabel Rose Farm & coop stores. We don't request data or information , we do support needy families also, but the key is for the whose community to access food waste and so far not a single item we have received has gone to landfill. The Merlin Neurotherapy Centre is a purpose-built facility in Cornwall that provides clinical and therapeutic services to people affected by a range of neurological conditions.* Our services include oxygen therapy, physiotherapy, exercise classes, sensory integration, counselling, day respite care, community transport, information, support and advice. We also give support to carers who are usually a family member. The Centre opened in April 2009 and we have 20 staff and 70 volunteers. The Charity’s governance is the responsibility of a board of 10 Trustees. We provide support to around 100 people a day. We receive no statutory funding so we rely on voluntary income and fundraising activities. *A neurological disorder is any disorder of the nervous system. Structural, biochemical or electrical abnormalities in the brain, spinal cord or other nerves result in a range of symptoms, which can vary considerably from person to person. Service users may face physical, emotional and psychological symptoms. Neurological conditions typically include Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Stroke, Brain Injury, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but there are also many more conditions that can benefit from the therapies and support at the Centre.

Working for the families in the Gover Division of St Austell. Distributing food, helping those families who need it and preventing food going to landfill. We collect surplus food from our partners that they no longer need and distribute it to families through our Community via our Larder days, thus reducing hunger and waste at the same time. What started as a post Covid need during school holidays in 2020, we are now into our 6th year and the need continues to grow. We currently operate from a 20ft porta cabin situated on a private premises where there is plenty of parking. The address is 1a Gover Road, St Austell Cornwall. Customers come to us from word of mouth, through the local Health Hub The Food Bank, through posters etc. When a customer comes to us for the first time, I have a chat with them to ascertain whether they have any dietry needs, cooking facilities etc. If homeless and no cooking facilities, we have a stock of ration packs which we can give out that only need water. Similarly with customers who are staying in a travel lodge where there is only a kettle. Because we pay a £3000 membership to Fareshare for a weekly delivery of food which includes fruit and veg, we ask for a small donation of £2. For that the customer has at least one large bag full of food. If they don't have any money, that is no problem as there are a couple of benefactors who pay forward to cover anyone who is struggling financially.
