We are a collection of Parents, Teachers and Friends trying to raise money and help support and enrich the lives of the Children that attend Pensans School. One of our main goals this year is to help raise funds and renovate an outdoor space to help enhance the learning of the children of Pensans. In one of the classes in Pensans (the ARB unit) we use a lot of food as resources for our children. All of our children have high sensory needs, which includes tasting, feeling and smelling different foods. At the moment the staff are using their own money to buy things or bringing in things from home to provide a full edible sensory experience. Our activities include edible messy play, we use the following for this: Jelly Porridge Custard Rice pudding Tapioca Tin fruits Angel delight Rusk biscuits Dried spaghetti and pasta We also do a story dough session involving edible playdough which I make twice a week at home. For this we are providing: Plain flour Oil Edible bits to put in dough such as fresh lavender and rosemary (from my own supply) Coconut flakes Sugar sprinkles Jelly beans/jelly babies Cinnamon powder Cocoa powder All of our children eat a lot of food, we also supply snacks that we buy for them. As you can imagine this gets expensive. We provide for snacks: Bread Jam Honey Dried fruit Pepperami Cereals Crisps/nachos Bread sticks Biscuits Any help we could get from surplus food donations would help the ARB unit in so many ways.
