B&Q New Malden

Belsize Court in Sutton is an extra care assisted living facility for older adults with various health conditions and disabilities. Our service users are residents with various health care needs who are referred through social services. We provide care, activities, befriending and work with the local community such as Sutton Uplift, Volunteer Centre Sutton to enhance social inclusion and improve health and well-being. We rely on fundraising and also donations. We are very fortunate to collect surplus food donations from M&S & Sainsbury's once a week. There is no charge to residents for the donations we collect, but helps with food poverty and also healthier eating. We also collect surplus plants from B & Q Local for our gardening activities. SPEAR is a charity in South West London that supports people who are experiencing homelessness. We have been helping the most vulnerable in our community for over 35 years, supporting people from homelessness to independence. Our services started in Richmond when two people died sleeping rough on the banks of the River Thames. The local community came together to provide accommodation and prevent it happening again. Our first hostel, Penny Wade House (named after our founder) on the Kew Roundabout, is still going strong today. We now provide support in Richmond, Kingston, Wandsworth, and Sutton. SPEAR supports people experiencing homelessness by providing a rough sleeper outreach team, supported accommodation projects and support to access healthcare and skills, education and employment support. In 2025 we helped 750 people experiencing homelessness. This includes 464 people found rough sleeping.

Wandle Valley Academy is a special provision, working to support 80 pupils aged 5-16 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties. We to create an environment that allows all our pupils to be individuals, whilst supporting them in a safe and nurturing environment. Where pupils learn about more than just formal education. Where there is a strong emphasis on Emotional Literacy, Social Skills and preparation for life outside Wandle Valley Academy. We teach the whole child. We believe our school will nurture all individuals in their journey to achieve their full and unique potential. Where we acknowledge pupils strengths by offering a curriculum that will allow them to develop and succeed, and most importantly, where they realise their self worth and gain in confidence to access the outside world and become life long learners. We are committed to developing a welcoming, safe and stimulating learning environment, where our pupils to learn the strategies they will need to become life long learners and to be able to aspire to achieve in all areas of their life. We ensure that pupils, parents/carers and staff all live by our school moto of ‘Together Everyone Achieves More’. Throughout lockdown we provided them with food parcels, food vouchers, weekly doorstep visits/ phone calls / emails, free laptops where necessary to access online learning, The welfare of our pupils is paramount.
