Mental Aid Ltd
London, UK
We are a registered charity located in Stratford, East London. Our mission is to support individuals grappling with mental health issues, disabilities, and homelessness. we provide a clothing and food bank, offer assistance for physical and mental health challenges, and maintain a free online directory of support services on our website. Our commitment extends beyond immediate relief; we aim to lift individuals out of homelessness permanently and advocate for the systemic changes required to address the issue at its root. Our clothing bank and food banks are currently operating in Redbridge, Ilford and Newham , Stratford and are run by volunteers. Our clients are deemed as legally homeless, this can be anyone who is laterally sleeping rough on the streets, anyone who becomes homeless due to their mental health or disabilities and even those fleeing persecution and violence such as Asylum seekers, refugees and also women and single mothers with children fleeing domestic violence. Clients are identified through established, recognised and regulated pathways and services such as the NHS, third sector organisations such as Shelter and charities that support women fleeing domestic violence. Our services are free, and we rely mostly on the goodwill and generosity of family, freinds and the general public to help with the clothing and food donations. We have partnered with a number of local organisations who support us with our cause. some of these are SHP , The Welcome project and Barclays Bank Real Estate Team who can be seen supporting us in the pictures provided.
