The World Shirdi Sai Baba Organisation (UK) [WSSBO] is a registered Charity, founded in 2010, dedicated to spreading the teachings and philosophy of Shirdi Sai Baba, fostering spiritual growth, and serving humanity through selfless service (seva). Based in Newham & Waltham Forest, we work closely with local residents, councils, businesses, and charities to empower individuals, provide essential support, and foster unity. Through initiatives like free hot food distribution, knowledge empowerment programs, health and well-being support, and community initiatives, we strive to make a meaningful impact, guided by the values of compassion, service, and inclusivity.

The Leytonstone Community Fridge is a Transition Leytonstone project, working in partnership with The Community Fridge Network. We are working to reduce food waste at a local level by collecting food donations from charities, food businesses and individuals, making the food available to the public without discrimination, The Fridge, which is situated outside the Leytonstone Methodist Church, is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from 12 noon until the food runs out. It gets very busy, especially during the first half hour, and is manned entirely by volunteers. We need a steady stream of new stall volunteers and driver volunteers, as people do have other things in their lives! That said, we are a happy community of food waste warriors, who love nothing better than saving food from landfill and composting. A very recent 3-monthly audit shows that we saved two and a half tonnes from landfill between February and April 2019. We are currently fundraising for solar panels to power our 2nd backup fridge and a freezer in our food storage garage.

About London Fashion District (LFD) London Fashion District (LFD) is a London-based social enterprise and registered charity supporting young people and local communities through creative education, employability training, sustainable fashion initiatives and community support programmes. Our work combines fashion upcycling, garment customisation, sewing, printing and design with employability skills, confidence building, wellbeing support and access to opportunity. Alongside our youth programmes, we also deliver community-focused initiatives including: • Pay-What-You-Feel café sessions • Community meals & food distribution • Social supermarket concepts • Fundraising & community engagement events A core part of our mission is sustainability and circularity. We repurpose donated clothing, fabric, food and materials to reduce waste, increase access, and create social impact. Food donations help us provide nutritious meals during workshops, community sessions, public events and outreach programmes, while clothing and textile donations are repurposed through our creative workshops, social enterprise store and community projects. We welcome donations that support young people, families and communities facing economic disadvantage, helping us provide access, dignity and opportunity.
