We work with the community to gather and distribute emergency food parcels to households dealing with food insecurity, increase public awareness of the conditions that lead to food poverty, and establish projects that support people before a food parcel is needed. Providing emergency food parcels is the core of what we do, and we have seen a year-on-year increase since the charity was established. We deliver these to ensure that they are accessible to anyone in need. We also offer a subsidised Fruit & Veg' Box scheme to households on means tested benefits at an affordable price to increase access to healthy food, run a mobile community shop which provides affordable food to rural areas in ‘food deserts’ in Bassetlaw, operate a retail operation to raise funds for the charity and run ‘Grow it, Fix it’, an allotment, orchard and white goods repair project. We also run BFB Hive, a project that includes a café, extending our existing lunch club to offer more sessions, an advice and guidance service with partner agencies such as Citizens Advice, and a laundrette.

We are a family friendly, exciting and relevant expression of church with two locations - Langold, Notts and Woodhouse, Sheffield. We have loads happening in the week and on weekends to help you and your family flourish in life. From meals for the elderly, to toddler groups, youth activities and kids fun we have loads going on. Our aim is to bring life to our communities. We also run a food hub which offers groceries for £5 a bag.
