How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, B&Q has donated products and volunteer time, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Flourish at Woodfield Park

Doncaster, UK

Flourish Enterprises is a CIC based in Balby, Doncaster. We work out of a stunning listed building that provides inviting office space, conference and function hire, community events and volunteering opportunities, historic walled garden & shop and cafés all surrounded by lots of beautiful green spaces. As a social enterprise we focus on providing care and support services throughout our local communities. We exist exclusively to promote social mobility, wellbeing, opportunities and work with our partners to deliver a positive and lasting social impact. We provide work and vocational opportunities to people with mental health needs, learning disabilities, neurological conditions and to those that have experienced other forms of set-back and who need support to get back into education and employment. Our range of activity includes Woodfield 24, our specialist end-of-life care service providing community-based palliative care support to patients and their families – ensuring that their remaining time can be spent together. As a not-for-profit organisation we ensure that every penny of surplus generated from our services is reinvested back into community led activity. We are fully owned by the RDaSH NHS Trust and together we share the same site at Woodfield Park. We are planning to run a programme of activity sessions throughout the summer, themed around health and happiness, for people to enjoy everything our free to access site has to offer. These sessions are designed to make sure that at Flourish there is something for everyone no matter their age, ability, background, circumstances or wallet. We are looking for donations of food and drink and that we will provide free of charge as part of the programme.

Doncaster Hack and Makerspace

Doncaster, UK

Doncaster Hack and Makerspace is a community-driven hub for innovation, creativity, and learning. Currently working out of Art-Bomb Studio on Hall Gate in Doncaster, we provide access to tools, technology, and resources for individuals of all ages and backgrounds to explore STEM fields, arts, and crafts. We meet on Wednesdays and Fridays throughout the month, with dates available on our Facebook page. We accept members aged 14 and upwards, though anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian. We are actively looking for our own premises, and access to tools and materials will be key to making this a reality. Donations from B&Q would enable us to equip our space with the necessary resources to support various projects, allowing members to engage in hands-on learning, prototyping, and creative expression. These additions will help us foster collaboration, skill development, and sustainable practices, empowering members to bring their ideas to life and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive community.
