How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, B&Q has donated products and volunteer time, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Forum Housing Association

Birkenhead, UK

Forum Housing is a charitable organisation that has been a provider of accommodation and support to young people, and people who are homeless or at risk of being homeless in the Northwest for 50 years. The Association’s mission statement “it’s all about you” is a testimony to the Association’s Christian foundation and values. It captures for us the sentiments of respect for and consideration of others, which is at the heart of all we do. Together we aim to 'Create Opportunities for Brighter Futures'

The Community Basket CIC

Liverpool, UK

We aim to address issues of long-term poverty in L4 and L5, providing access to affordable food and household goods, reducing hunger, malnutrition and diet-related disease which maintains cycles of poverty and disadvantage. At present we redistribute around 5T of food a year to around 115+ households weekly. We aim to de-stigmatise food poverty by running a service that is open to all, where people don’t have to ‘prove’ their need of help. Our aim now for 25/26 as we gained a plot of land is to find people for the Community allotments, and opening up more activities/groups, that are able to use the land to help their users too. One user of the basket left an anonymous note that said, “Thank you for running this food bank for the past few years. I have occasionally used it when in serious need. It’s a good thing that you are doing for the community and I am sure it has been very helpful for many people over the years.” Another card left at the basket simply said, “Thank you so much. A recovering addict.”
