North Scale Community Centre
Barrow-in-Furness, UK
We are a local community Centre run by Residents of North Scale. We have a weekly Warm Hub for people to pop and have a brew and a chat with other residents. Various activities are run through the week from Bingo to Craft. We have a small play park for younger residents and a bowling green adjacent to the Centre. We are hoping to open a DIY area to enable locals to come and do a bit of DIY with likeminded people. A large proportion of North scale are retired villagers, some who live alone and are isolated. the centre helps by bringing them together. We are need of various things from Paint to Garden items, from DIY items to Craft too.We also have a Warm Hub on a weekly basis where we give a warm Drink and toast free to local residents who are often alone, vulnerable and Isolated. We would like to help by distributing food to our local residents who are struggling through the cost of living crisis. Many Residents are elderly and living on their own. Our Warm Hub allows the volunteers to check on them and to help with other issues they may have and pointing them in the right direction for the help they need.
