Dreamscheme delivers youth work in aspatria. we currently have over 150 members aged 11yrs - 19yrs, one full time worker, 6 sessional workers and eight volunteers. we are open 5 days a week & occassional weekends. We provide access to activities and training which develop a variety of skills, empowering young people to realize their potential as individuals. Rainbow Room by aspatria dreamscheme - we are a community Food pantry who have been providing food for our town for donations since the pandemic and are still continuing to grow.

The Food Rescue Group, Penrith takes a practical, community-led approach to tackling food waste and promoting sustainable living across the town. As communities face growing challenges from climate change, resource depletion, and ecological imbalance, the importance of the Penrith initiative is clear. A central focus of our work is addressing food waste, a critical issue that leads to the unnecessary loss of valuable resources and contributes significantly to methane emissions from landfill. Tackling this challenge is both an environmental necessity and a moral responsibility, as redistributing surplus food can provide meaningful support to local families and individuals. We work closely with local producers and retailers to ensure surplus food is used rather than wasted. These partnerships help businesses reduce disposal costs while delivering positive environmental outcomes for the wider community. Pickup and distribution in Penrith are coordinated by Suruchi Kansagra, who manages volunteer schedules, oversees collections, and ensures rescued food is delivered promptly, safely, and to where it is most needed. The initiative is powered by dedicated local volunteers who collect and redistribute surplus food shortly after it becomes available. This rapid turnaround helps maintain freshness, removes the need for storage, and supports high standards of food safety and quality. Every item collected is carefully inspected to ensure it meets strict safety standards. Any food that cannot be shared is disposed of responsibly to minimise environmental impact. Coordination takes place through a dedicated WhatsApp group, providing volunteers with real-time updates on collection times, locations, and available quantities. By diverting significant amounts of food from landfill, the Food Rescue Group, Penrith is reducing methane emissions, conserving valuable resources, and strengthening community connections. Alongside environmental benefits, the initiative provides essential support to those who need it most. As the group continues to refine its approach, it is making meaningful progress towards a more sustainable and inclusive future. West House is a not for profit organisation working since 1986 to support adults and children with a learning disability or autism across Allerdale, Copeland and Carlisle. We have a range of services and aim to meet the needs of individuals and families in our area.
