FRESH START PROJECT CIC – Providing Hope, Safety and Fresh Starts Fresh Start Project CIC provides safe, secure accommodation and person-centred support for homeless men in Stockton-on-Tees, helping them rebuild their lives, regain stability and work towards a more independent future. We currently provide 15 supported accommodation spaces across our Portrack and Westbourne Projects. The men who come to us have many different stories. Some have been released from prison with nowhere suitable to live. Others have experienced relationship breakdowns, mental health challenges, drug or alcohol misuse, financial difficulties, or have found themselves sleeping on the streets. Our referrals come from prisons across the North East, Probation Services and local authority homelessness teams. More Than Somewhere to Sleep At Fresh Start Project CIC, we believe providing a roof is only the beginning. We work with each resident as an individual, helping them access healthcare, register with a GP and dentist, manage Universal Credit and benefits, access food banks and essential items, engage with mental health or drug and alcohol services, develop budgeting and independent-living skills, and build confidence, routine and stability. Our aim is to help each man take positive steps towards greater independence and a more secure future. People, Not Labels Homelessness can happen for many reasons. A relationship can break down. Someone can leave prison with nowhere to go. Mental health can deteriorate. Drug or alcohol misuse can take hold. Financial circumstances can change. Fresh Start Project CIC doesn't judge someone by where they've been. We work with them on where they want to go next. The men we support are not statistics. They are fathers, sons, brothers and members of our community who deserve dignity, support and another opportunity. What Support Do We Need? Many of our residents arrive at Fresh Start Project CIC with very little and live on extremely low incomes. Some rely on food banks and donations, particularly while waiting for Universal Credit or trying to make a monthly payment stretch. We are incredibly grateful for support with surplus food, toiletries, men's clothing, bedding, household essentials and other practical donations that can directly benefit our residents. We also welcome opportunities to work with local businesses, organisations and volunteers who share our commitment to helping people rebuild their lives. Something as simple as a meal, clean bedding or essential toiletries can make a genuine difference to someone starting again. These things don't just meet a practical need – they provide dignity, stability and show someone that their community cares. TVT is a community-focused charity dedicated to improving life outcomes and future-proofing the community by responding to the needs of residents across Middlesbrough and the wider Tees Valley area. We provide practical resources, tailored support services, and compassionate guidance to individuals and families in Hemlington and beyond. As a trusted and welcoming safe space, TVT acts as a gateway to support, helping people access the assistance, opportunities, and local services they need to thrive. Where gaps in provision exist, we work proactively to develop solutions that meet the evolving needs of our community. Our services and initiatives include an ECO Shop and a Pre-Loved Shop, helping families access affordable essentials while promoting sustainability and reducing waste within the community. We also host our Warm Welcome Wednesday coffee mornings, creating opportunities for residents to connect, reduce isolation, and build supportive relationships in a friendly and inclusive environment. In addition, TVT actively participates in a wide range of community events and works collaboratively with partner organisations, local groups, and agencies to strengthen community support networks and maximise opportunities for local residents. Through partnership working and community engagement, we continue to build stronger, more resilient communities across the Tees Valley.

The Junction Foundation is a well-respected children and young people’s charity based in the Tees Valley. Our vision is a world where no child, young person or family is left to struggle. We want a world where there is always someone to talk to, and we strive to achieve this by providing holistic support based on the needs of children, young people and families, supporting them through their whole journey; meeting need, promoting resilience, and enabling them to embrace life with confidence and develop skills to face life’s challenges in a positive way. We do this through our five streams of work: • Our Youth Employment, Education and Skills Service provides dedicated 1-1 support to help Young People to progress into Education, Employment, Training or Self-Employment. • Our Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Service provides Advice and signposting, support and therapeutic interventions as part of the local Getting Help offer. • Our Young Carers/Next Steps Young Adult Carers Service completes whole family assessments to identify areas of support, and create personalised action plans, to reduce the impact of caring roles on Young Carers (aged 5 – 25). • Our Youth Services provide programmes for Young People which aim to reduce social isolation, build confidence and support the development of skills which enable Young People to influence services, communities and create change. • Our Specialist Children and Young People’s Transport Service supports children and young people to access opportunities, support and activities that they otherwise would struggle to access. We have built our reputation through our approach to working with local people that focuses on building trusted relationships that empower, and planning towards positive outcomes that make a real difference to their lives.
