Community Food and Friendship Blyth is a small registered charity number 1191399 based in Blyth Northumberland. The group has nine trustees and many volunteers who work with adults and children who face challenging times to find enough food to eat. We offer a free Bacon Butty drop in for men every Thursday morning and provide emergency food, clothes, toiletries and work with partner organizations who offer advice, training and counselling. We also work with local schools providing crisis food boxes on request, Christmas toys and Christmas Eve Food Hampers by referral, all food and other items are donated by local businesses and the local community. None of this would be possible without our fabulous volunteers who collect, pack and deliver often with little notice.

The BAY Foodbank was founded in February 2012 with an aim to provide emergency food provision to individuals or families experiencing a financial crisis. This crisis happens when a family have no money because of low income, bereavement, benefit delay, redundancy, an unexpected bill or illness. People can be referred by churches, doctors, social services or other agencies. Everything we do as a charity depends on what food we have available to hand out to those most in need in the community. Without it, we cannot operate. We rely on our fantastic local supporters to donate food at our drop off points throughout the area. They can be found in a number of different supermarkets, churches, and other businesses in North Tyneside. We accept a large variety of non-perishable foods, and often produce a weekly wish list on our website letting our supporters know what items we are most in need of at the moment.

Community Centre in the heart of Walker, Newcastle, we support our local community with training course (cooking and growing), family events, Food Hub (weekly food parcels), on site allotment and community garden, IT cafe, room hire and a community cafe with luncheon clubs and afternoon tea as well as outside catering.
