To provide services for individuals affected by and in recovery from substance misuse in West Lothian and the surrounding area. To relieve the suffering and disadvantage caused by addictions and to improve the individuals lives and the lives of their families. To provide safe environments such as the 1st Step Cafe, the food eco pantries and the 1st Step workshops for individuals in recovery. The local community, their friends and families are all welcome at the 1st Step Cafe and the community eco pantries. To offer volunteering opportunities by providing healthy food to the local community through community eco friendly pantries. To advance education by providing skills development, with 1st Step bikes , within the eco pantries and the Cafe. This provides meaningful opportunities to gain skills and confidence often leading towards future employment.

We deliver a 7 day food parcel and hygiene products to people facing a financial or personnel crisis. The foodbank works on a referral system, working with local government agencies, social services, NHS, Citizen's Advice, Doctors and health workers, plus various addiction, debt and housing agencies. We provide a home delivery service, by doing so we are able to cover all areas of the Falkirk District. By delivering to people's homes not only helps to reduce stigma. It also means we can deliver larger food parcels along with Toiletries, Nappies, Baby Food and Pet Food. With the aim of making it look like a Supermarket delivery. When required, we also supply, new children's beds, new warm bedding, plus cooking items and basic household items. By working with local food producers, we are also able to help with food redistribution to other local charities. We need volunteers to help with deliveries and food sorting, making up food boxes, assisting with running activities during those mornings where we host school visits, and anyone with online and web skills who can assist with our site migration and upgrade.

At Armadale Academy we believe that no child should go hungry, therefore our aim to to provide help and support for our students and families in the form of food sharing cupboard which will help parents to access food at short notice. For families in urgent circumstances a food parcel can be made up to meet the needs of individual families. Our family support workers work closely with families 52 weeks of and deliver various clubs/courses offering support in various forms.We are also in the process of setting up a cooking workshop for families to attend and up skill. With help from the neighbourly scheme we are able to continue to offer services to the Children and families with in our community.
