Wandle Valley Academy is a special provision, working to support 80 pupils aged 5-16 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties. We to create an environment that allows all our pupils to be individuals, whilst supporting them in a safe and nurturing environment. Where pupils learn about more than just formal education. Where there is a strong emphasis on Emotional Literacy, Social Skills and preparation for life outside Wandle Valley Academy. We teach the whole child. We believe our school will nurture all individuals in their journey to achieve their full and unique potential. Where we acknowledge pupils strengths by offering a curriculum that will allow them to develop and succeed, and most importantly, where they realise their self worth and gain in confidence to access the outside world and become life long learners. We are committed to developing a welcoming, safe and stimulating learning environment, where our pupils to learn the strategies they will need to become life long learners and to be able to aspire to achieve in all areas of their life. We ensure that pupils, parents/carers and staff all live by our school moto of ‘Together Everyone Achieves More’. Throughout lockdown we provided them with food parcels, food vouchers, weekly doorstep visits/ phone calls / emails, free laptops where necessary to access online learning, The welfare of our pupils is paramount.

Operating primarily within the most underserved postcode of Chessington within the Royal Borough of Kingston, New Era was conceived by a group of like-minded people based on one man’s intuitive vision; to attempt to ensure that our grandchildren and subsequent generations can enjoy this incredible world in safety and to eliminate the dilemma of 'Heat or Eat.' We provide any useable items that are discarded by retailers to others without asking them to meet with any criteria (our sole purpose is that of offering hope to those who have little and don't know where to find any, completely free of all judgement.) We also have a large contingent of users who visit our projects to save food from landfill. There is no charge made for any of our redistributed produce. We use some free surplus food within our three Square 1 Cafes, where 'everyone is welcome and everything is free.' These are safe, secure environments that promote togetherness and friendship and help those dealing with social isolation. https://www.facebook.com/groups/square1cafe We continue to distribute surplus food and pantry items collected via supermarket Customer Donation Points to our Community Fridge located at St Mary's Centre in Chessington, helping those living in one of the most underserved postcodes within the Royal Borough of Kingston. Open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10AM until 1PM. All of our projects hold a 5* Food Hygiene Rating from Kingston Environmental Health Office. As of February 2026 we rely on some 67 volunteers providing 255 hours PER WEEK across our venues. Our newest project SKY Cafe is dedicated to our young carers' within the community and operates every month from our base at St Mary's Centre in Chessington. Food, activities and much fun and laughter is the order of the day.

Save the World Club (SWC) is an environmental creative arts, education and entertainment charity. At SWC’s heart is a commitment to improving the well-being of individuals and communities and protecting the environment demonstrating imaginative skills and solutions and having fun, so we can all live in healthier and more sustainable ways. SWC was set up 30 years ago by Des Kay. The organisation was primarily concerned with Des using recycled materials to create unique kinetic and mechanical structures which told children and family audiences stories of waste and gave other important environmental messages. After many successful years, Professor Kayoss is a legend and SWC has grown to an organisation with thousands of committed supporters. Over the years, we have created Award-winning large community mosaic artworks with thousands involved throughout the process of creation. Using waste materials, many are on display around Kingston Town and the Borough. Our remit for cutting waste extends to monitoring what gets thrown away, and rescuing items able to be recirculated, either as themselves, or through upcycling to something else. We are also key collectors of surplus food that we distribute daily, to local charities, institutions and others in need.
