Our project operates from the RCCG Living Faith Sunderland church premises, located at North Bridge Street, Sunderland. SR5 1AB. Our facilities are equipped to support a variety of community services and activities, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for all who visit. We distribute from the charity building every Sunday and every other days. We identify service users and their needs by community outreach, direct engagement, and feedback from our congregation and local partners. This includes conducting surveys, holding community meetings, and maintaining open lines of communication with those we serve. Our dedicated team of volunteers and church members actively listen to the needs of our community, ensuring that our services are tailored to meet these needs effectively. In addition to food support, RCCG Living Faith Sunderland offers a range of services. All the services provided by our organization, including food support, are offered free of charge.

WHERE WE'RE BASED House of Abundance operates from Blackhills Rd, Horden, Peterlee SR8 4LQ. We're a registered charity serving families across Peterlee, Easington, Blackhall, and surrounding areas. Our church building provides space for worship services, community programs, mentorship sessions, and food distribution. The location is accessible by public transport with parking available. WHO WE HELP AND HOW WE FIND THEM We support working families struggling with rising costs, single parents, pensioners on fixed incomes, young people needing mentorship, and individuals facing job loss or family crises. Our congregation members live locally and bring needs directly to us when neighbors or colleagues are struggling. We also receive direct approaches from people who've heard about our work through word-of-mouth. During Sunday services and weekly activities, we create an open environment where people share their struggles naturally. Our pastoral team builds genuine relationships that reveal needs through conversation and trust. We conduct community listening sessions, walk through local neighborhoods, and attend community events. This face-to-face engagement connects us with people who might not come to church but need support. WHAT SUPPORT WE'RE SEEKING FROM NEIGHBOURLY We're interested in surplus food donations, volunteers, and grant opportunities. Surplus food from local retailers would let us serve more families with better variety. Currently we purchase food through donations and fundraising, limiting our reach. Regular surplus food would free up funds for utility bill assistance, school uniforms, mentorship programs, and emergency crisis support. We need volunteers for food distribution, mentorship, administrative support, and community outreach. Grant funding would help expand our programs and improve facilities. OUR OPERATING MODEL Everything we provide is completely free. Food distribution, mentorship, pastoral care, crisis support. When someone needs help, we provide it. No forms, no judgment, no barriers. Our funding comes from voluntary donations and charitable giving. OUR FOOD PROGRAM We distribute food every Sunday (10:30 AM - 4:00 PM) and throughout the week, serving 15-30 families weekly. Each household receives parcels with bread, milk, tinned goods, pasta, rice, vegetables, and treats for children. For elderly residents or those with mobility issues, volunteers deliver to homes. We have a kitchen with chest freezer and dedicated room for sorting food. We can collect from retailers or receive deliveries. Fresh items are distributed within 24-48 hours. We maintain records of what we receive and distribute. We currently rely on community donations and purchased food. Regular surplus partnerships would provide consistent supply for families depending on us. OUR BROADER WORK Beyond food, we run mentorship programs for young people, provide emergency assistance for crises like eviction or job loss, offer pastoral care and counseling

We are very busy Community Hub and run a variety of activities for all ages. Women's & Men's CREE/Youth Club Jnr & Snr/Mother & Toddlers/Karate Club/Bowls Group/Lunch Club/Disability Group & Keep fit Zumba. We do alot of work with young people. We would like to run monthly event which will be a mixture of intergenerational fun days and workshop/pamper days. These will give the beneficiaries an opportunity to experience an entertaining day with people of all ages as well as time to enjoy doing something different with people of their own age. They will benefit from shared experiences that will help to break down the age barriers. As attendees become more familiar with the Community Centre, we will introduce them to other activities going on in the Centre and support them if they would like to attend. During School holidays we provide packed lunches with Arts pack as parents struggle with food during these periods Shotton has a high population of both elderly and young people and the aim of this project is to provide activities to help bridge the gap between young and old. This will encourage intergenerational engagement and rekindle community spirit. Many of our elderly residents feel isolated and are apprehensive about engaging with younger members of the community. By holding the weekly sessions in a safe and friendly environment with people there to support them, the elderly will be able to interact with different age groups without feeling insecure. The events will focus on fun for all, regardless of age, and show that people of all ages can enjoy the same activity in different ways. These activities will begin to form strong links between the two age groups and start to break down the preconceptions about each other. The regular organised contact with each other will have outreaching consequences in their day to day lives as they will identify with a shared enjoyable experience and feel safe. As a grass roots regeneration organisation, Shotton Partnership has made many improvements to the quality of life within our community. We are open for new members, especially young people who will continue making a difference.
