We operate a food bank from our centres in Morpeth, Ashington, Newbiggin and Lynemouth, collecting food and distributing it to persons referred to us by care professionals. Our service continues to grow - during 2015 we gave more than 8000 days worth of food to individuals in need.

Age UK Northumberland is an independent local charity which provides services for older adults throughout Northumberland. Our central service is free information, advice and advocacy. Other services are designed to meet local needs and currently include: day care and personal care, befriending, exercise and falls prevention classes, lunch clubs and day centres. As an independent charity we rely on fundraising, grants and in-kind support to sustain our services for the older people of Northumberland.
What we've received
Morpeth, UK
We provide food parcels to families , individuals and vulnerable people within a 5 mile radius of Widdrington Station. Initially set up as part of the Parish response to covid for those isolating , a need was soon discovered and the community rallied around to provide support . We have a core team of volunteers who help maintain stores and deliver the parcels . Currently we provide 27 food parcels a week and have provided up to 30 per week. Sadly the need is growing and the food bank is now a permanent fixture to help support those who are struggling.
