Resco Employability Programme

Hounslow, UK

The vision of Resco is to dismantle poverty through business. Recognising that the causes of worklessness are complex, we have created an innovative solution that provides beneficiaries with a unique combination of work-experience, training and tailored interventions based on individual support needs. Founded on our belief that business is one of the most powerful tools for dismantling poverty, the Resco Programme is hosted within a commercial business environment. The Resco Programme is distinct from other employability initiatives as it provides real-life work experience which resources participants with transferable skills, renewed confidence and a positive mind-set to empower them to overcome challenges and sustain future employment. Our expert team is committed to transforming the lives of the local community, empowering individuals to be self-sufficient and contribute more fully to society. The holistic and relational approach in which we carry out our work enables us to tackle the root causes of poverty and long-term unemployment and create a supportive environment where participants flourish. Our social impact business Resco Living, focuses on sustainable tenancies; providing essential household items for vulnerable residents in the community. This business provides a platform for work experience opportunities for Resco programme participants. Participants joining the Resco Programme have been unemployed an average of 7.6 years. 58% of those who complete the Resco programme are in sustainable employment within 12 months, breaking the cycle of poverty. Below are some testimonials from Resco Programme graduates and supporters: "They haven't just changed my working life, they've changed my life." "Above and beyond everything else, thank you for giving me back my confidence." "Thanks to Resco I can re-enter the workplace with a fresh CV, a new reference and qualification." "Resco provides an outstanding service to offenders in Feltham in preparing them for employment. The Resco Programme team are exceptional in the holistic support they provide to clients, consistently going above and beyond to believe and invest in people and develop their confidence and skills for work." Feltham Young Offenders Institute. Through working with Starbucks Cheer For Good, Resco will be able to provide better resources and training for participants and those involved in our Mission Employable sessions - where we offer participants highly focused support with job hunting, CV writing and applications. This funding from Starbucks will also allow us to increase people's awareness of Resco, in particular the impact it is having in Hounslow and the surrounding area. Resco Programme participants are transformed during their time here into confident, equipped and hopeful individuals that are ready to find work, and make a real difference to their lives, and the people around them.
