Shaping Deaf Young People's Lives
Wolverhampton, UK
We aim to introduce/provide essential life skills that a lot of young people are sorely missing out on these days as many provisions and services are not able to provide essential life tools due to communication barriers and lack of knowledge of deafness. Life skills sessions will be designed and delivered in BSL to fill in the gaps in many deaf young people's knowledge which in turn will give them tools to achieve their full potential along with a sense of independence, confidence, improving mental health and well-being. This would help them to apply what they have learnt to go further in life such as applying to colleges, universities, gaining employment, or to be a proactive member of their communities.
