Established in 1989, Honeycomb Charitable Services Ltd is a registered charity that is Breaking barriers, Building people, and Bettering homes.’ Whether it's helping to make homelessness history through our brand ‘Concrete’ or ending domestic abuse through our brand ‘Glow’, we’re vital in making a difference to the lives of children, young people, adults and families across Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas. We’re often connecting with people at difficult times in their lives providing a range of advice, accommodation and support for those affected by or perpetrating domestic abuse and people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Many of those we support also have additional needs that arise from mental ill-health, substance misuse, offending behaviour or their refugee status and their lives are often further complicated by issues such as low confidence, a lack of practical skills for life, social isolation and, debt and poverty. Glow; ‘the heart of change for safe, healthy relationships’ is our specialist domestic abuse brand, leading change by tackling the issue of domestic abuse from all angles. To end domestic abuse we support and address the needs of those affected by domestic abuse; we empower survivors to overcome their past toward more confident futures; and we work to end domestic abuse at the source by educating the community and working with those responsible for abuse to end and change the cycle of their behaviours. #FindtheGlow Concrete; ‘making homelessness history’, is our specialist homelessness and complex needs services brand which, through a community-led approach, is helping those without a plan, without a voice and without a home build concrete futures by tackling the underlying issues that keep them from finding and securing a home of their own. We are a two form entry infant school in Burton upon Trent. We have a 52 place nursery attached to the school. Our school is located in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire in the hub of the Eton Park Community. The majority of the children that attends our school and nursery, are living in accommodation with limited or no access to garden space. The housing is of poor quality and this impacts their families and the health and well-being of those in the accommodation. Our school is situated near Eton Community Park and the Trent and Mersey Canal, however these aren’t always accessible to our children due to safety issues and concerns.

Our tenancy support service provides high quality accommodation and low level housing management support for people affected by mental illness aged 18 years and above, who are at risk of not accessing or sustaining a home because of their mental health, vulnerability and/or a history of housing related problems. We have 16 units of self contained accommodation in Cheadle varying from bedsits, flats and houses. Currently with the cost of living crisis many of our tenants are having to make the decision between heating or eating, we would like to be able to collect surplus supplies from local suppliers so we can provide a warm room for our tenants in the staff office, so tenants can charge any electricals, get warm and we would like to be able to provide them with some food to help them get through the week without them having to make the decision between eating or heating, staff will be volunteering there own time to run this and there would be no charge for the tenants. We currently work with the local food bank and refer tenants when needed but in recent months, tenants are struggling more and more and we are having to refer to the food bank more frequently which is then adding extra pressure on to there service, we currently don't collect any surplus food.
