We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. Food is donated by schools, churches, businesses and individuals. Large collections take place as part of Harvest Festivals celebrations and supermarkets. The food is sorted and stored by volunteers. Clients receive a Foodbank voucher and come to us for a food parcel which provides three days of food for them and their family. Volunteers meet clients over a warm drink and some hot toast! They are signposted to other agencies to help solve longer term problems.
