Camp Nibble rabbit rescue & welfare

Leeds, UK

Rabbits have recently been identified as the most cruelly treated and neglected pet in the UK. Many thousands of UK pet rabbits are living in conditions where their welfare is being severely compromised. As a result rescue centres are full of rabbits who have suffered through the ignorance of their owners and then through no fault of their own have become unwanted. There are also many members of the community desperately requiring assistance to re-home their rabbits due to genuine changes in circumstances. We will maintain accommodation to receive unwanted, abused and abandoned rabbits and care for them to a very high standard. These rescued rabbits will then be re-homed responsibly using strict re-homing criteria after neutering, vaccination and rehabilitation. We will also educate the public on the proper care of domestic rabbits. We aim to rehabilitate and responsibly re-home neglected and abandoned pet rabbits by: » Maintaining high quality facilities to receive rescued rabbits. » Preparing rabbits to be responsibly re-homed by neutering and vaccinating and providing the best possible veterinary care available. » Only re-homing rabbits to the best possible homes by adopting strict re-homing criteria. We also aim to re-educate the public on the proper care of rabbits and their complex needs. We will do this by helping existing and potential rabbit owners understand the commitment required to provide pet rabbits with a happy, healthy life by: » Handing out literature and educating members of the public directly at rabbit awareness events. » By educating the public on matters pertaining to rabbit welfare via our website and social media channels. » By providing an advisory service whereby existing and potential rabbit owners can contact us for advice regarding rabbit welfare. » By initiating our own rabbit welfare campaigns and spreading the campaigning messages of the Rabbit Welfare Association.
