The Berkshire MS Therapy Centre supports the health and wellbeing of people living with Multiple Sclerosis across Berkshire and surrounding areas. We provide treatments such as physiotherapy, oxygen therapy, counselling, footcare and a range of complementary therapies from our specialist centre in Reading and online via Zoom. Whilst there is no way to stop MS, the Centre provides treatments and therapies to manage symptoms and improve quality of life. We receive no funding from the NHS and need to raise £650,000 every year to ensure local people with MS get the support they need.

Trust House Reading is a specialist rape and sexual abuse support centre, established as part of the Home Secretary’s commitment to opening up to 15 new rape support centres across the UK. We offer a range of services to women, men and children living in the Reading and Berkshire area who have been affected by sexual violence either recently or in the past. The services we offer are varied such as: a confidential helpline staffed by trained volunteers, specialist counselling for adults and young people, Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) support, support groups and play therapy for children. All of our services are free and confidential. It is our aim to support all people in Reading and Berkshire who have been affected by sexual violence including those people who support survivors such as family and friends. We believe that everyone has the right to be free from all forms of sexual violence and abuse. Trust House Reading’s confidential services place survivors at the heart of what we do, and seek to empower individuals to work through and beyond their experience of abuse. We use an empowerment-based model to focus on improving the health and well-being of survivors, helping them to regain their self-esteem and self-confidence and consequently their ability to make choices about what they wish to do next. Trust House Reading is the only rape support service offering holistic support to men in the Thames Valley area. Likewise, our counselling services for young people and play therapy for children is highly sought after because there are no other specialist organisations within the local area that offer these services for children. We have also started to work on awareness-raising campaigns within the community which aim to challenge the stigmas associated with sexual violence and break the silence, allowing survivors to feel comfortable to talk about their experiences and access the help and support they need. The "Elephant in the Room” campaign aims to challenge individuals, communities and society at large to start communicating about rape and sexual abuse. Ask any survivor of sexual violence and abuse about living with “the elephant in the room” and they will understand exactly the dreadful burden of living day to day with the impact of their victimisation. Victims of rape and sexual violence don’t ask to be raped, assaulted or abused and many find they are left to cope with the pain on their own.
