The children of St. Bernadette's Bees Preschool enjoy a huge variety of experiences with the staff indoors and out. The children have access to outside play daily and in all weathers. Research shows that children who play outdoors for at least 10 minutes each day have better outcomes in main stream school. The preschool is a registered charity ref: 1207753, we are a non profit charity - any money raised will be spent directly on new robust resources for inside and out.

We fund pioneering research to increase survival, raise awareness of the symptoms and effects of brain tumours and support everyone affected by a brain tumour to improve quality of life. When you have a child, it should be the best day in the world, but for some of our members when their precious baby is born it can feel like the end of the world. Once a month Stepping Stones DS invites parents of a child with Down syndrome to come together at a stay and play session where they can share their concerns, fears and of course hopes. A problem shared is a problem halved after all. Early intervention is crucial for children with Down syndrome but for many families access to professionals is scarce in the early years. We want to be able to provide some expert support at these sessions for parents to be able to ask questions - a speech and language therapist, physiotherapist, educational psychologist, we would like these experts to do guest slots at our sessions but this comes at a cost - £1000 would cover the cost of providing an expert at each of our monthly stay and play sessions for a year. About us: Stepping Stones DS was set up by two parents in December 2006 as a coffee morning to support local parents who have children with Down syndrome. At our very first meeting we had 3 children - we now support over 100 families across North Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey and we are growing every day. Our group now offers a range of support, services, activities and information to parents & carers of children with Down syndrome, and professionals who are involved with their care and education.
