Friends of Young Achievers currently support the Young Adventurers Duke of Edinburgh Award group, which has around 20 young people with disabilities attending. Friends of Young Achievers are however looking to expand, and double their membership in the next 12 months. This will be done through promotional events to raise awareness of the charity, and the excellent work which it does. Friends of Young Achievers objectives: - To improve the conditions of life for young people with disabilities in the interests of social welfare. - To promote social inclusion for the public benefit amongst young people in the Black Country, who are socially excluded from society or parts of society, as a result of disability. - Supporting the delivery of recognised awards specifically for young people with disabilities. - Providing a safe environment for young people between the age of 10 – 25 years with disabilities to be able to interact socially with peers and to practice their social skills.

Little Hearts Matter supports anyone affected by the diagnosis of only half a working heart. We support families along every step of their journey, from initial diagnosis, through treatments and into life at home. We support and inform our members to reduce the isolation, fear and the lack of understanding experienced by families when a child is diagnosed with having half a working heart. In doing so, we empower them and their families to live the very best lives they can. Help from our communities are always welcome. Please do share our project page with your friends and followers. We support children and young people by providing music making opportunities in areas where music education provision is under-served (either at school, at home or in the community). By programming regular music events in our local area, we are showcasing new and emerging talent in a casual environment and increasing local audience participation in active listening to live music. In some cases providing Live Lunch allows 'On The Edge' to give young musicians their first taste of performing to new audiences, as well as engaging with the public interactively through hands-on music workshops. 'On The Edge' want to promote music making and the benefits of music as more than simply entertainment by delivering live music events that inspire sociability, new audiences and help more young people to start learning and making music. We bring a range of musical instruments to workshops, and at performance events we promote the charity with banners, flyers and volunteers who are available to answer questions about how to get involved with what we do. We also encourage an 'open mic' accessibility, allowing new young people to have a jam with musicians they've never played with. 'On The Edge' has a recruitment policy for volunteers, apprentices and interns and will embed several arts management roles connected to this project into the responsibilities of volunteers and interns. We also encourage children and young people to count their workshop hours as part of their Children's University accreditation.
