When you need us most Lost, alone, scared, vulnerable. This could be your family member. This might be your friend. This is why we're here. Wiltshire Search and Rescue exists to support the police and other emergency services in searching for, and rescuing, vulnerable missing people. This could be people with dementia, with mental ill health or who have a disability. Called out on average once a week, the men and women who volunteer for Wiltshire Search and Rescue are united in their mission, yet they join for very different reasons and from very different backgrounds. What binds them is their desire to help their community. They're all professionally trained to the highest national standards and can specialise in areas such as water rescue, rope work and advanced navigation. We were directly responsible for saving the lives of four people within the last 12 months. Without us, these people would have died. Wiltshire Search and Rescue is a charity and relies entirely on fundraised income to buy our equipment, conduct our training and run our vehicle. Thank you for your support. www.wilsar.org.uk

Changing young lives through learning

Melksham, UK

We build young people's qualifications, skills and confidence and help them to build their own peer support network. As a result of our work, young people are able to form more positive relationships, continue their education, move into employment and feel more positive about their future. Examples of programmes we run include: - healthy cooking courses - first aid for parents - young mums to be - parents with prospects - fabulous families - Prince's Trust Team programme All of our programmes are run free of charge to beneficiaries and we provide additional support such as childcare, travel costs and interview clothing. We listen to the needs of our beneficiaries - for example we developed the new Fabulous Families course to provide progression for people who had completed our courses for young parents. The course supports young parents with helping their children during early years of school, which was a training need we identified from focus groups and surveys. We build effective referral networks with statutory and other groups, enabling us to target our provision at the most disadvantaged. As a result of our work, socially and economically disadvantaged people are more able to lead fulfilled lives and support themselves. We run the Prince's Trust Team programme in Salisbury and Trowbridge and we run courses for young parents throughout Wiltshire and Swindon.

Paediatric Cancer Care Suite

Yeovil, UK

Time is Precious, is a totally voluntary charity! We have been asked to refurbish the "Rainbow Room" ( paediatric cancer care room) on the Yeovil Hospital children's ward. Approx 100 children with Cancer use this room & 200 parents/ carers each year. They have to live in this one room, for anything up to 3-4 weeks, to have their Chemotherapy etc. At present it is very dull & old, we want to make it lovely for these children to use, it will be in keeping with one of the latest projects we have completed TIP, need to raise in the region of £20,000 for this project. Can you help make a difference?
