Slide Away is committed to ensuring that bereaved children and young people and those who have a close family member with a life limiting illness receive support. Slide Away offers a safe caring environment for young people to meet together and remember their special person. This happens at a workshop where they learn to manage their grief through creative activities and outdoor pursuits.

Restoring Hands helps those most in need in the Maidstone Community. We aim to restore dignity and hope back in the lives of others. The Restoring Hands team is made up of a group of committed, motivated and passionate volunteers, bursting with energy and new ideas to make Maidstone an even better place to live. We've had some truly momentous stories along the way. For example, our Christmas 2015 Campaigns were a real success. We gave close to 300 Star Kids presents to deprived children and families across Maidstone. Every present was tailored to match the interests of the child. With your thoughtful donations of favourite festive treats, Restoring Hands packed over 100 treat boxes and 25 emergency food parcels. We do what we can to help local people in need of practical support or someone to listen and give advice. Our weekly shopping baskets are a big part of that. Here's how a grateful mum felt about one of our food parcels. “A food parcel meant that the family could relax. I knew that food was there, my husband didn’t feel under pressure to provide the impossible and the children were excited to unpack and plan meals! It was like christmas, we kept popping into the kitchen, opening the cupboard and smiling.” We love team work! Let's continue working together to help individuals and families attain a greater all-round quality of life.

Demelza is all about life. We help those who may not live a long life to live a full life. We support families facing the likelihood their child will die. We’re there from diagnosis, during day to day family life, times of crisis and through bereavement. Demelza cares for the whole family - mums, dads, brothers, sisters and grandparents need support too. Demelza care is tailored to each family. We put together a personalised programme of care which is reviewed and adapted as a family’s needs change. This could include therapies, respite and end of life care. Demelza is one organisation across three areas. Our impact is felt in Kent, South East London and East Sussex. Demelza is your charity, not part of the NHS, and relies on community generosity. We need funds to reach more children, young people and their families.
