Starbucks Frenchgate Interchange

We offer reasonably priced, freshly prepared food. We are working with the local community to offer a varied programme of events to help with social isolation and wellbeing. We are currently providing free breakfasts for pre-school children. We have several local action groups who meet regularly in the café, including a dementia organisation and the Bringing People Together weekly coffee morning.

Our Community Centre is a hub for the whole community to enjoy. We hire out our space to many different groups including local sports team, fitness groups, dance groups and children's drama groups. The centre also runs tea dances, a dominoes group and a New Age Kurling group. As part of the centre we have a community cafe that offers high quality meals at a very low cost to the public. People from all different walks of life use the cafe, such as young families, elderly people and teenagers. Many of the elderly people who use our centre find that it is a cheaper alternative than cooking their own meals. It also gives them the chance to interact socially with other members of the public and encourages them to join in the different sessions held here at the Centre. This helps to reduce isolation and feelings of loneliness and gives many a purpose in life.

By installing male shower facilities we would then be able to run training weekends including boating and in field activities for all the Sea Cadets and Royal Marines , this would also open up the unit for us to share with other divisions and increase our local recruitment which then impacts the local community for the good.
