Triangle Adventure Playground 2017

London, UK

The Triangle Adventure Playground is an oasis of green space offering the young people (aged up to 18) of its sprawling local estates a safe space in which to develop physically, emotionally and socially. The playground encourages children of varying abilities to extend themselves by experiment and exploration, all under the watchful eyes of its trained, professional play-workers. Our service is especially valued by parents and carers because after school and in the holidays the Triangle is, for many children, the only place to play or ‘hang out’ other than the streets, which enables their parents or carers to work or study in the knowledge that they are safe and secure. Free of charge, and with its open access policy, we are especially proud that our playground is a happy, harmonious place for young people representative of the full range of London’s multi-cultural society. Activities include free adventure play, construction, gardening, cooking, sport, art and crafts, environmental activities, music, dance and drama. The playground holds an historic place in the development of play theory being the oldest adventure playground site in London. It was founded in 1957 and now provides challenging activities for over 1,000 young people.

Triangle Spring Break Bonanza

London, UK

We run the oldest adventure playground in London known as the Triangle Adventure Playground. It was opened in 1957 by a local primary school teacher who believed that children's development should be holistic and that education wasn't just about what you learned at school but was also about learning for yourself through all forms of play. 59 years later we are still helping children develop physically. emotionally and socially. We open every evening after school during term time and every day during the school holidays. Activities include sport, arts and crafts, music, dance and drama, gardening and environmental play, cooking, swings and structures, indoor games such as table tennis and pool, camping, construction, fantasy play etc etc. This project is raising funds for the Spring Half Term.
