Sense - Connecting Sight, Sound & Life
London, UK
Living with sight and hearing impairments or complex needs can be immensely challenging. Everyday things like having a conversation, enjoying friendships and living independently can be very difficult without the right support. Sense is here to help navigate these difficulties and support people to live active and fulfilling lives. Finding ways to support people to communicate is fundamental to our work, and over the years Sense has found that the skilled approaches we have developed with people who are deafblind also benefit other individuals, such as people with complex needs. Sense provides a range of flexible services and support to enable people of all ages to develop their skills, grow in confidence and get the most out of life. Our services are built around the wishes and needs of each individual, supporting people to be as independent as possible. We work with children, young people, adults and older people, offering a range of housing, educational and community support, arts, sport and wellbeing activities – as well as working in policy, research and training. One of the greatest challenges Sense faces is getting our name out there so that we can ensure that people can be made aware of our services. By sharing and following our page YOU could help to make a huge difference to the lives of those affected by deafblindness, visual impairments and other complex needs.
