Life For A Kid have opened sensory rooms in Hull including a Softplay area, Dark Room and sensory garden. we are looking for funding to further improve the equipment inside. the rooms benefit Disabled, Autistic children and there families in Hull and east riding. The sensory rooms allow a private place for the kids to play and we also hold parties for terminally ill children to create lasting memories.

(Registered Charity number: 1156237) We provide inclusive, subsidised social activities and trips for children and young people with disabilities and their families to enjoy, such as; weekly sensory play sessions, inclusive dance classes, monthly exclusive cinema screenings, messy sensory play sessions, inclusive soft play sessions and trips around the region to farms, theatres, museums and theme parks We also offer support, advice, sign-posting and referrals to relevant local, regional and national charities, services and organisations. We have an extensive specialist equipment, book and sensory toy lending library. In addition we offer opportunities for parent carers to apply to us for short breaks and specialist grants Membership is free and simple to complete. Oakwood Dog Rescue

We provide care for unwanted dogs. This includes housing, feeding, walking and generally meeting the basic needs of the dogs. We also provide general veterinary treatment including neutering and routine flea and worming treatment, as well as funding more extensive surgery and/or treatments required for the health and wellbeing of the dogs in our care. We complete a full behaviour assessments for every dog. This ensures we find the most suitable home for them and can provide the relevant care and training required while in our shelter. We complete yearly follow up visits with each adopted dog to provide help and support to the owners and ensure the continued wellbeing of all the animal. This process contributes towards our goal of ensuring the dog remains in the new home for its entire life. We provide free seminars to local schools and groups to educate children on responsible dog ownership and care. By educating the next generation of dog owners we aim to reduce the number of neglected and unwanted dogs in the future.
