Action West London's core objective is to help disadvantaged young people and adults improve their lives through opportunities for Jobs, work experience, apprenticeships, , education, training , self employment and social enterprise. The charity currently works in Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Hounslow, Brent and Hillingdon. We welcome support from companies, businesses, philanthropists, community groups and individuals., Our current project list can be found on www.actionwestlondon.org.uk Our key objectives are to: - Help disadvantaged, unemployed young people (NEETs) and adults secure employment - Help disadvantaged individuals improve literacy, numeracy, IT and basic skills. -Help refugees and individuals where English is not their first language improve their English communication through ESOL training and support. - Reduce crime by assisting young and adult offenders to secure training and employment. - To undertake a range of community development initiatives including work with BMER individuals and groups and community safety initiatives. - To help unemployed individuals set up their own businesses-- including by running stalls at our Acton Market - To set up a social enterprise Recruitment Agency helping companies to (I) increase the diversity and social mobility of the employees they recruit and (Ii) help employers recruit Local people - To develop Action West London so it becomes a financially sustainable charity Action West London currently employs 17 staff and volunteers and interns . Action West London provides a range of services to help people in need - particularly disadvantaged, unemployed individuals. Action West London works in partnership with other charities and organisations, local authorities, public and private sector bodies. Action West London is in an exciting period of transformation. Changes to the public sector agenda and to funding means that Action West London must continue to identify and develop new income streams, strengthen its own profile, extend its range of services within the key themes of the Business Plan and pilot new business ideas to achieve its Mission. 20th Anniversary: In October 2018 Action West London will have been established for 20 years. We welcome support, sponsorship, partnerships and donations to enable us to continue for another 20 years!
