We run two projects under the banner of The Everlasting Foodbank. Our foodbank is for people to receive emergency food in times of crisis or need. We also give people clothing, toiletries and a friendly face to chat with. Alongside food we encourage people to sit with us and chat over some coffee/tea and buiscuits. Sometimes we find that we can be the only people that someone talks to that day. We have been well supported by the local community who find us to be reassuringly approachable. Up to today we have fed over 1600 people after opening for just about 4 years. The hope and aim is to be able to be a resource for the community and help people with their immediate need but also help them to recover from their current crisis situation. We have recently launched a community cafe. This helps people in need (those who would qualify to use the foodbank) with free hot food made by our team of volunteer chefs. There is encouragement of socialising between cafe users and similar to the foodbank we have people who will sit and talk with users. The cafe provides job experience for those who use the foodbank by letting them volunteer in the cafe itself. This greatly helps to move people from reliance on foodbanks to get back into work. Alongside the cafe we also provide a one-to-one drop-in centre for help and signposting.

We have developed a comprehensive range of services to meet the needs of people affected by MND and their families. Whether you're looking for support, information or even respite care, we can help. Our Patient and Carer Centre in Glasgow houses our information, benefits advice and counselling services, and provides facilities which can be used to provide ongoing support and education for patients, carers and health and social care professionals. We provide a wide range of information about Motor Neurone Disease (MND) for people affected by MND and health care providers. We always need people to raise funds. There are 404 people in Scotland with MND, and we’d be unable to provide our range of essential services without people like you.

Radio Lollipop Glasgow, the independent children’s charity located at Yorkhill Sick Children’s Hospital which provides play, care, comfort and entertainment to children during their stay in hospital, is set to continue playing its part following next year’s move to the Southern General Hospital’s spectacular new premises south of the River Clyde. The move to these excellent new facilities is very exciting but we need now to raise £30,000 to build and kit-out a new studio so that our volunteers and helpers can carry on their fantastic work helping sick children. Radio Lollipop Glasgow is not just a radio station: its core belief is in the healing power of play to provide fun and laughter to children at a time when they need it most. Of the one in four children admitted to hospital before reaching the age of 14 most have a recurring need for care and must return, repeatedly, to hospital. Sadly, some terminally ill children spend much of their short lives in hospital. Radio Lollipop’s annual running cost of £20,000 is focused on supporting children on hospital wards. It relies purely on volunteers to participate in and organise fundraising events in their local communities. Radio Lollipop operates from Monday to Friday throughout the year. Its volunteers provide interactive play using a range of games, arts and crafts, toys, books and theme weeks on the wards. Its broadcast radio studio is the biggest toy in its “toy box”, and provides a unique child-orientated programme of interactive competitions, music, stories and games. Children enjoy visiting the studio with the volunteers to request a favourite song, to tell a joke live on air, host a show with the presenter or to use the Radio Lollipop playroom.
