The charity works to improve the lives and life chances of Manchester people. Every penny raised for the charity stays here in Manchester, supporting local families and community groups. Over a third of children and young people in Manchester are growing up in poverty. The charity focuses its support on vulnerable families and projects which bring communities together, as well as initiatives that promote employment and enterprise for young Mancunians. We want Manchester to be a thriving city with opportunities for everyone. We want the young people of Manchester to reach their full potential whatever their start in life. The charity provides grants and support to local community groups and families. Some examples of the projects we have supported recently include a Winter Night shelter for young homeless men, a dementia support group in South Manchester, a project for young people with learning difficulties and a volunteering programme for the long term unemployed in the city centre.
