We make life that little bit easier and more comfortable for families of children being treated for cancer at the children's hospital in Wales. Having a child diagnosed with cancer or leukaemia comes as a devastating blow. Faced with a period of months and sometimes years of gruelling treatment and an unknown future. The related ups and downs are often referred to by families as like being on a rollercoaster. Our free of charge on-site accommodation keeps families together during their child's stay in hospital. As well as hotel style accommodation, we have a communal kitchen, dining, laundry and living room facilities. LATCH offers all families an initial financial support grant to cover their immediate needs and on-going financial support during the years of treatment. Our team of dedicated social workers make sure families receive practical, emotional and financial support. They advise people on claiming for benefits and how to access grants to cover additional expenses, such as travel, heating and extra child care for siblings. We also fund two ward based Support Workers - they offer practical assistance to the families while they are in hospital. They help out with food shopping, collecting siblings from school or keeping the child company when the parents need to leave the hospital or simply need a break - anything to make life a bit easier. Activities and treats can help boost morale and keep children occupied during treatment. When they're in hospital, children really miss the stimulation and structure of their normal daily lives. That's why we give them electronic games, art and craft materials and fund a magician to visit the ward each month. The Social Workers organise regular outings and an annual party to raise people's spirits. It's important that families get chances to enjoyable time together and build memories. LATCH has three caravans based at the seaside. Families can go to the seaside for much needed quality time, while being close enough to medical support should the need arise. We also fund medical equipment and lots of clinical projects. Our aim is always to make children's lives more comfortable on the wards, at home and in the community. This includes specialist buggies to improve the mobility of children who have lost their ability to walk due to treatment. LATCH received no grants or statutory funding and relies solely upon the generosity of the general public to achieve its aims. Thank you for your support!

We're touring with our show; You've Got Dragons based on the book by Kathryn Cave. This project has 2 main objectives- the first is to raise conversations about mental wellbeing with families. Increasing numbers of very young children are experiencing anxiety and mental illbeing for a variety of reasons. The show follows Ben, a young girl who journeys to understand and then tame her dragons. We'll be running workshops which will give children tools to combat anxiety and stress and we'll alse be signposting teachers and parents to sources of help and support. The second strand is that, being an inclusive theatre company, we aim to challenge perceptions of disability through our work. Our cast is made up of Deaf, disabled and non disabled professional performers. We hope through our casting to inspire young Deaf, disabled and visually impaired people to get involved in theatre. You've Got Dragons has integrated British Sign Language, Sign Supported English and Visual Vernacular. We also integrate live audio description for the whole audience. There are also creative captions. We wanted to ask the questions- how do young D/deaf children access theatre? How does a blind or Deaf (grand)parent access theatre with their (grand)child? In the foyer, before the show there are a number of accessible activities such as a tactile scaled down version of the house that is on stage- which children can climb in and explore. We'll be making tactile model houses with children- encouraging them to think about how other people can experience their designs through touch. This project is an accessible and inclusive theatre project, raising the topic of mental health- we all have dragons. Sometimes they breathe fire and make us feel scared, and sometimes we can make friends with them- they might even inspire us or make us laugh!

Pride Cymru is Wales’s largest LGBT charity and our aim is to eliminate discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender within Wales. We seek to work within all areas of the LGBT community in Wales and by co production, engagement and partnering with other organisations we have a programme of projects aimed at supporting specifically the LGBT community but also aimed at developing links with the wider community. Projects include creation of a number of events which are accessible to all and staged within mainstream environments with the aim of increasing a greater understanding and respect leading to a reduction in hate crime. Other streams of work include looking at ways to improve health and wellbeing through raising awareness of LGBT focused information and services.
