Our volunteers visit families in their own homes to help in a variety of ways. They play and read with the children, accompany the family to local parks, shops, children’s centres and playgroups, help parents attend appointments, reassure parents that difficulties in bringing up children are not unusual, build on parent’s strengths and listen and talk to improve emotional well-being for the ultimate benefit of their own children. In difficult or stressful times, our volunteers have been a vital lifeline for parents. They give parents the confidence and skills they need to cope with their daily lives and enable children to grow up in a happy and stable environment.
