We’re the UK’s leading breast cancer charity. And we’re combining the power of science and support to change breast cancer. We have a bold vision. That by 2050, everyone with breast cancer will live and live well. We can’t do it on our own. But together, we can make change happen. Now.

Deaf women are twice as likely to experience domestic abuse and deaf children at nearly 3 ½ times more likely to suffer. And according to police figures, domestic abuse cases increase significantly over the Christmas period. Imagine how much worse the situation must be when the support that is available isn't in your language or delivered by people who understand your culture. That's the reality for many deaf women and their families. SignHealth is the only organisation in the UK to offer specially trained Independent Domestic Violence Advocates who are fluent in sign language. They help deaf families to leave abusive homes, find a safe refuge and rebuild their lives. We also work extensively in schools to teach deaf children about the importance of healthy relationships and staying safe. There are many more women and children who need our help, but without further support we are unable to provide it. Help us keep more deaf families safe this Christmas, don’t let them suffer in silence.

Our vision is a world where people with a learning disability are valued equally, listened to and included. Our challenge, alongside people with a learning disability and their families, is to make this world a reality. Right now, people with a learning disability face inequalities in every area of life. We need to tackle the issues head on through tireless campaigning and the delivery of high quality support and services to the people who need us. Our mission is to transform society’s attitudes to learning disability and improve the quality of life of people with a learning disability and their families. Our big plan is divided into five priorities. These are the areas of life we want to have the biggest impact on, the areas where there is the most need to see change for the better: 1) Raising awareness and changing attitudes 2) Making a difference to the lives of people with a learning disability here and now 3) Supporting friendships and relationships 4) Improving health for people with a learning disability 5) Giving children the best start in life.
