Wild in the City is a community organisation working to increase people's well-being by enabling urban residents to rediscover and connect with nature. London has beautiful pockets of woodland, specifically oak woodland in South London, yet many people don't know it's there. We are creating a community of people gathering together in nature to experience the benefits that come with spending time in the outdoors. Living and working in a busy urban environment, people can often find their daily lives busy and stressful. Spending time in nature has been founds to reduce stress, depression and anxiety, induce meditative feelings and improve mood and memory. From parks and woods, we create experiences that teach traditional techniques, such as bush-craft and navigating skills, which help people to feel closer to their ancestral past as well as to their present. We create experiences that encourage community members of all ages and backgrounds to immerse themselves in local green spaces. For example, our Into The Wild programme empowers 16-25 year olds to increase their personal development through learning practical woodland skills and therapeutic reflection. We have big plans for the future: introducing an exciting new project that will encourage office workers to spend time working outdoors and a Natural Health Service helping people to improve their physical and emotional health through physical activity in beautiful outdoor spaces. Come and join us by the campfire! We're always looking for volunteers to help with our projects and activities - from building sustainable outdoor furniture that 'leaves no trace' to helping us to promote our fantastic workshops and opportunities. Glass Door is committed to supporting people get—and stay—off the street. We coordinate London’s largest emergency winter shelter network and provides a year-round advice service to help people move beyond homelessness. Our vision is a world where no one has to sleep on the streets of London.

The Royal Marsden opened its doors in 1851 as the world’s first hospital dedicated to cancer diagnosis, treatment, research and education. Today, together with its academic partner, The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), it is the largest and most comprehensive cancer centre in Europe, treating over 50,000 NHS and private patients every year. It is a centre of excellence with an international reputation for groundbreaking research and pioneering the very latest in cancer treatments and technologies, as well as specialising in cancer diagnosis and education. The Royal Marsden, with the ICR, is the only National Institute for Health Research Biomedical Research Centre for cancer. First awarded the status in 2006, it was re-awarded in 2011. A total of £62 million is being provided over five years to support pioneering research work, and is being shared across eight different cancer themes. We have two hospitals: one in Chelsea, London, and another in Sutton, Surrey. We also have a Chemotherapy Medical Daycare Unit at Kingston Hospital. The Royal Marsden also provides community services in the London boroughs of Sutton and Merton and in June 2010, along with the ICR, The Royal Marsden launched a new academic partnership withMount Vernon Cancer Centre in Middlesex. Since 2004, the hospital’s charity, The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, has helped raise over £100 million to build theatres, diagnostic centres and drug development units. HRH The Duke of Cambridge became President of The Royal Marsden in 2007, following a long royal connection with the hospital.
