This page allows Volunteers within Feed the Homeless Bristol to provide information on their availability to "Walk" on a particular night that the charity operates. The charity operates around central Bristol feeding the homeless people who look to our support for a hot meal, produce, fruit, snacks and a hot or cold drink. It allows the walkers to see fellow volunteers and what equipment may be needed that evening. Once a desired amount of volunteers has been reached, you may be added to the "reserve list" and if willing, contacted should circumstances change and someone has to drop out. If you and your baby no longer need it, we’ll give it to someone who does. The Baby Bank redistributes baby items like clothes, slings, cots, high chairs, pushchairs, and cloth nappies that have been used and loved by parents, but are no longer needed, to parents who cannot afford to buy these items new or second hand. Reusing items saves money and is environmentally friendly. Babies grow fast. In their first year they will require 2 or 3 whole new sets of clothes. For some this is a financial burden they can’t manage. For others they have an abundance of baby clothes and items that may get passed on to friends and family to be reused, given to charity shops or thrown away. By donating to the Baby Bank we will ensure that those with the most need get to experience the joy of parenthood with a little less stress. We will work with children’s centres based in areas of deprivation and organisations that are in contact with vulnerable families like refugees to make sure that they are provided with items to have their babies basic needs met. Baby Bank Network is currently operating an emergency service to support families through the COVID-19 crisis.

This is an Oasis North Bristol gardening project which aims to: - Educate students and their families about vegetables, healthy eating and sustainable growing. - Provide sources of food for students to use in cooking sessions Each academy currently has a small student gardening club with very limited resources. The aim of this project is to expand and build on these clubs to provide: - Growing areas for students and their families - Workshops for students and families on sustainable food growing - A wide range of “home-grown” fruit and vegetables which students and families can then use as part of cooking lessons at school and at home - To celebrate growing in the Oasis Hub North Bristol by hosting a “Big Picnic” in June 2016. All 3 academies will grow food ready to be harvested and celebrated by students and the community at this event. (we are currently working with the Food for Life Partnership to ensure a Big Picnic is run in our local area.) This project will run across the 3 Oasis academies in North Bristol (Brightstowe, Long Cross and Bank Leaze). The aim is that this project will become self-sustaining by selling produce through a new "Farmers Market" (at affordable prices), seeds and off-shoot plants. The money made from this will then enable the academies to buy further seeds and materials each year to continue the project.
